Nehemiah

Who was he?

Wall of Security

Tasked with rebuilding the wall of Jerusalem to protect his city; Nehemiah's story tells of a man who persevered through impossible odds in order to complete his task.

By using his position as a trusted servant of the king, and with God's favor following those who serve Him, Nehemiah was able to intercede on behalf of his people when it mattered most. We too can play an important role when we choose to serve God in our present positions.

Lord let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant and to the prayers of your servants who delight in honoring your name. Please give success to your servant today and grant him favor in the presence of this man
— Nehemiah 1:11

His Prayers

Nehemiah prayed for success in this venture, not just for the strength to cope with his problems. Yet the success he prayed for was not for personal advantage, position or acclaim. He requested success for God's work. When God's purposes are at work, we don't hesitate to ask for success. If God has called you to a task, He will help you accomplish it!
